Merkel 300 serie 7x57R ejector











- Description
Serial #13604, this 1920 era rifle comes with 25” barrels in Bolher Antinit steel ( to this day, one of the best steel the gun trade can use ) .
Bores and chambers are shinny, rifling is crisp. Regulated with 12 grams bullet which are pretty heavy 7mm projectiles by today’s standards. I shot it with Hornady 162 plastic tip and got a nice 2” group at 100 yards top right over bottom.
Owner stated great regulation with 160gr Nosler partition and 47 gr IMR 4350.
3 pieces forend, southgate ejectors , a fix Talley mounted Leupold VXR ill ret 1.25-4x20 on the original base .
300 series action with Purdey flat bolt and Kersten top bolt. Tight on face.
Interceptor sears, cocking indicator, double set triggers, 75%coverage floral and game scenes engraving. Weight is 9 lbs 9 oz .
LOP is 14 1/4” over a leather faced 7/8” pad.
The rifle is mechanically and cosmetically in very good condition.
