#6309 J. Blanch &Son 12 Ga Best.
29" Whitworth steel chopper lump barrels , 2 3/4" chambers , bores are .731" and 735" , chokes are .007" and 016" (IMC MOD) , walls are at minimum .025". Soldering is good and blacking in 95% condition. Bright bores and chambers. Gun number 1 of a set.
Bar action locks , screw grip third fastener , tight on face. Lots of original case color , somewhat faded but never brushed. 80% scroll engraving coverage , Harry Kell was the engraver for most Blanch best guns at the time and this work is certainly in his style .
Trigger guard is engraved in Roman numeral (MCMIII) for 1903 , something Blanch did only on their best guns. Weight is 6 Lbs. 8Oz , it balances 1/4" in front off the hinge . Stock measures 14 7/8" with a well matched wood extension, drop is 1 1/2" and 2 1/8" with 3/8" of cast off. The stock finish is in 90 % condition.
Unusual lever type forend release. Factory leather case with relined interior.
