- Description
Made in the late 1890s with Damascus barrels , now 24” tubes , it was shortened at one time . Henry rifling with great bores and chambers. Interesting sights with a one standing diamond inlaid and three folding. Silver front bead and dove tailed flip up moon sight. Browning and solder in excellent condition. Strong ejectors.
Action is tight with an older professional rejoint . Good trigger pulls , auto safety, interceptor sears. Case color harden receiver with 75 % tight scroll engraving.
Weight is 9# 9 oz , LOP is 14 1/8” over a 1” Silvers pad.
Stock is strong and in great condition, both structurally and cosmetically.
Worth mentioning that it points beautifully for me with 1 7/8”- 2 5/8” and a 1/4” cast off. In the original case with a new interior.
With the proper loading, this rifle would shine in Africa as well today as it did 125 years ago.
